Knowing the sequence makes a kitchen renovation far less stressful. This is the schedule we run on a typical Glasgow project.
Days 1–3: strip out and first fix
The old kitchen comes out, waste is removed and any walls are made good. Plumbing and electrical first fix happens now, along with any new sockets, lighting circuits and extractor runs.
Days 4–8: units, appliances and templating
Carcasses are levelled and fixed, doors hung and appliances positioned. Stone worktops are templated at this stage and usually take 7–10 days to return, so laminate projects finish faster.
Days 9–15: worktops, tiling and snagging
Worktops go in, followed by splashbacks, flooring, second fix electrics and plumbing. We finish with a joint snag walk-through before final payment.
