Bathroom Renovation Cost in Scotland: What to Budget in 2026

22 January 20266 min read

A bathroom is a small room with a lot of trades in it. That is why prices vary so widely. Here is what a full renovation costs across Glasgow and Lanarkshire in 2026.

Average bathroom costs

A straightforward like-for-like bathroom refit typically costs £4,500 to £7,000 supplied and fitted. A full renovation with re-tiling floor to ceiling, new layout and quality sanitaryware runs £7,500 to £12,000. Fully tanked wet rooms with linear drainage usually start around £8,500.

Labour is roughly half of most bathroom budgets because plumbing, electrics, tiling, plastering and joinery all overlap in a few square metres.

Where wet rooms differ

Wet rooms need a formed fall, full tanking and correct drainage — the waterproofing stage is not optional and it is where cheap installs fail. We explain the process on our bathroom fitting page.

Underfloor heating adds £700–£1,400 to a typical bathroom but is one of the most requested upgrades in our Wishaw and Airdrie projects.

Keeping costs predictable

Pick your tiles and sanitaryware before work starts. Mid-project changes are the main cause of overruns.
